KYCnot.me: what it is and how to use it
KYCnot.me is a free, independent directory that shows each service's KYC policy and computes privacy and trust scores from declared attributes. It lets you check what a service really does before depositing, instead of trusting marketing.

How do you use KYCnot.me?
- Type kycnot.me straight into the browser (there is also an onion address, and the site works without JavaScript) and do not use third-party links.
- Find the service and read first the KYC Policy and the sentence describing it, such as "Never KYC" or "Shotgun KYC", which weighs the most.
- Look at the privacy (0 to 100), trust (0 to 100) and overall (0 to 10) scores, reading all three together.
- Check the listing status (Community Contributed, Approved, Verified, Scam or Archived): Scam means the service was flagged as a scam, and Archived means you should read the reason.
- Read the terms-of-service summary, the community comments and recorded incidents, and the attributes (custody, open source, Tor access, transaction monitoring, refunds that require KYC).
- Compare the official site's domain listed in the directory with the one in your browser, and open the service's own terms if the summary looks outdated.
What are the limits and cautions?
- It is a research starting point, not a guarantee. The numeric "level" scale for KYC no longer exists; the policy, scores and attributes now apply, and the site may change again.
- Verified status says how much the listing was reviewed, not how well the service protects your privacy: there are Verified services scoring 4 out of 10 with a "Shotgun KYC" policy, which can demand KYC after you send the funds.
- Lookalike sites exist: type the address yourself. When a platform's site and the directory disagree, what counts is the terms of service, not the slogan.
