Bitwarden: what it is and how to use it
Bitwarden is a cloud password manager with an encrypted vault and sync across devices. It lets you use a long, different password for every account, including bitcoin ones, without memorizing any but the master password.

How do you use Bitwarden?
- Install from the official site, bitwarden.com, by typing the address, or from the official phone store, and add the browser extension if you want.
- Create the account with an email from the right identity and, for your crypto identity, with an alias or private email.
- Set a master password that is a long phrase of random words, unrelated to your life, and write it on paper in a safe place.
- Let the manager generate a long, random, unique password for each new account, and change any passwords that show up in leaks.
- For critical accounts, keep the 2FA in a different place from the passwords; Premium has a built-in authenticator, but keeping both in one vault puts everything in one spot.
What are the limits and cautions?
- A Bitwarden account holds your master password and an email, so create it with an email from the right identity; mixing identities here links them.
- It is a cloud vault: if the same vault stores both the password and the 2FA code for a critical account, whoever opens it has both.
