Wasabi Wallet: what it is and how to use it

How do you use Wasabi Wallet?
- Type wasabiwallet.io by hand and check the domain and version before installing; verify the file's signature.
- Create a new wallet, write the seed by hand on paper (later metal) and confirm the backup.
- Test recovery with a small amount before moving significant sums.
- In settings, choose a CoinJoin coordinator after checking its current status in community sources.
- Start with a small amount, accepting the coordinator's fees, and label the resulting coins.
- When spending, do not merge coins of different origins in one transaction.
What are the limits and cautions?
- zkSNACKs shut down the official coordinator on 1 Jun 2024; the wallet is still updated (v2.8.2 in Aug 2026), but CoinJoin now relies on third-party coordinators.
- The coordinator does not hold your coins but organises the round; choosing one is choosing whom to trust. The list changes, so check before use.
